Southern Belize

Indian Creek and South Water Caye, Belize – 2014. These photos are from the southern region of Belize including Indian Creek and South Water Caye in an area south of the Nim Li Punit Archaeological Reserve. We visited the Indian Creek Ixchel Women’s Group which was one a number of local Mayan women’s organizations set up to produce traditional arts and crafts and demonstrate the current way of life in their villages. I also did a couple of dives in the area of South Water Caye with Hopkins Underwater Adventures. South Water Caye is a 14 acre island with a marine biology field station and private cabanas. There are numerous snorkel and dive sites in the area
